The Endangered emphasizes the importance of cherishing precious moments and the people in your life. Each piece is crafted and carefully composed to evoke the use of the senses to trigger memories and the emotions they bring.
This series of endangered animal-themed pieces comprises of a range of musical jewellery boxes that use combinations of materials, color contrast, scent, and sound to delight and connect.
- The Tiger is built from recycled wood that was layered to from horizontal strips, in combination with a polished gold finish. The scent of pandan is infused into this piece, complementing the wooden finish. Turning the wind-up key on the rear activates ‘What a Wonderful World’.
- The Elephant is finished with matte white ceramics with tints of rose gold. Elephants are friendly and majestic, yet fragile in their co-existence with us. Hence ceramic was chosen as it best aligns with these qualities. The scent of our national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, and the musical theme of ‘Somewhere Out There’ is chosen for this piece.
- The Rhino is tough yet gentle. A finishing of cement with contrasting black chrome pays homage to their humble character. The scent and music will evoke tranquil images of the river, bringing stillness and calm into the everyday.
- The Deer is plush and soft thanks to the use of textured grids. This is reflective of the deer’s approachable and community-loving spirit. Sadly, they are hunted for the pseudo-medicinal qualities of their antlers. The scent and sound emanating from this piece spurs the spirit of warmth and togetherness.
