Zakat, “that which purifies”, in Islam, is a form of alms-giving treated in Islam as a religious tax. The notion of Zakat is to provide to the poor and those living without means of livelihood and could not meet their basic needs. As the name suggests, Empathy is a coin bank that strives to allow the user to empathize with those in need. Coins put in will be separated into personal savings in the opaque area and the charitable amount in the glass dome. Once the space in the personal savings area is filled, every coin deposited will fall into the charitable area, suggesting that only once you have enough, you can afford to provide more.
