Design of the year
The Dell Inspiron 23 is designed for home users seeking a minimal footprint for more desk space and a product which keeps their desk free of clutter and, most critically, at an affordable price. Its touchscreen interface requires the thinnest possible screen, so the motherboard was moved to the base. And this, combined with a new kinetic movement, allows screen to be brought to horizontal; for example; gaming between two people. The stand mechanism is designed to prevent the bottom of the screen clashing with the base. The support arm structure is in aluminium for robustness and to conceal wiring without compromising assembly. The base, with its associated electronics and clutter inducing ports, is housed under an aluminium pressing with its micro perforated speaker grilles.
